EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION

September 14, 2009

Abraham Lincoln changed the rules, changed the law. He issued his famous Emancipation Proclamation, not only freeing the slaves, and having the effect of changing the law regarding the whole institution of slavery in the United States.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
- Romans 8:1,2 TNIV

Two thousand years prior to Mr. Lincoln's proclamation, the Apostle Paul issued a still greater Emancipation Proclamation. The law changed. In Jesus Christ a new law reigns, and we, who have been slaves to sin and its ravages--We are free. We are in a new relationship to the law. We are not under its heavy burden. We are not condemned.

You are free. You are not condemned. In Christ it is absolutely true! I pray today you experience your feelings catching up with reality. Set aside your condemnation. Breathe in the freedom you have in Christ. You've been set free, baby!
Joyfully,
