Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

The early church understood Jesus to be fully human and fully God.  But ever since, we've all been left discovering what this means.

Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.  And a voice came from heaven: "You are my son, whom I love, with you I am well pleased."
                                                  - Mark 1:10,11 TNIV
The story surrounding Jesus' baptism shows the complexity of God-Human.  God's affirmation comes with the Spirit's presence, "You are my Son."  This is an extraordinary affirmation of Jesus--God.  Yet, no sooner does Jesus pass through the waters of baptism, but he lives in the fully real existence of the wilderness, Satan's temptations. Jesus hanging out with wild varmints, and cared for like any human by the angels, "angels watching over him."
Jesus is not just another choice in the religious smorgasbord of the 21st century, not just another moral leader, or inspirational example.  He is the God-Man.  "Behold, the Son of God."
