Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

Many of us know the old hymn, "His Eye is on The Sparrow," a loved song of God's providence and protection.

But the eye of their God was watching over the elders of the Jews, and they were not stopped...
                                                      --Ezra 5:5 TNIV

The old hymn is inspired by Jesus' teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Mat 6:25-34) where Jesus teaches about how God cares for the birds, and surely will even be more concerned for us. Here in Ezra 5, the enemies of the people of God try to stop the rebuilding of Jerusalem, but even they report that God's eye is on the people, and the work of God and the people of God cannot be stopped.

Take heart, my friend, his eye is on the sparrow, and surely you and me.
