Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

WE

May 2, 2013

It's important that we read God's Words to us from two perspectives: one is to the ME, in other words, what it says and means to us individually, but also to the WE, what it says and means to us corporately, as the whole.

While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites--men, woman and children--gathered around him.
                                                 --Ezra 10:1 TNIV

The Israelites understood that this was not just a prayer Ezra prayed, but in behalf of, and for all of them. So they stood with him. Ezra prayers could not be "out-sourced," as in, "Let Ezra pray for us, that's what we pay him for!" No, they were with him in his prayers.

Christ-following, discipleship, is not just a ME proposition but also a WE. Stand together, live together with your fellow believers, it's the way of Christ.

Joyfully,
