EPAPHRODITUS

EE-PAF-fro-DYTE-us: Sometimes people do the work that we are unable to do. That's Epaphroditus.

But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my bother, co-worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs.

A Paul has had a helper from the Philippians. Apparently, during his service with Paul, Epaphroditus got so ill, he nearly died. That passed, and the time has come for Epaphroditus to return to his friends and family. Well done.

Others serve in our stead. Welcome them when they return. Pray for them in their absence. "[Epaphroditus] risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me" (2:30) .
