ZION

September 12, 2013

The place of God's dwelling, the symbol of God's promise to God's people, and a source of confusion and conflict.

Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill.  Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invie her.
                                                  --Joel 3:17 TNIV

The prophet Joel ends his message with a word of hope and restoration.  Though God's people will know a scourging, it is all unto redemption.  Zion again is declared the place of God's dwelling.  What good news!  Yet it is a source of contention as well.  It's the confusion of land and people, and within the Body of Christ there is divisive disagreement.  Not good!

Let us rest in this hope.  God is god and we are not.  Keep our eyes on our Lord, and let God work out the controversy.  Worship and serve today the God who dwells in Zion.

Joyfully,
