As the crowds increased Jesus said, "This is a wicked generation.  It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah."

How many miracles would Jesus have to do, how many healings, giving sight, restoring one's walk, casting out demons, curing the curse of leprosy, or reviving the dead, how many?  Still we demand more.  Then he said only one, the Sign of Jonah.  I assume the people didn't understand this either.  Jonah spent three days in the belly of the providential fish, and came back into the world.  Jesus said that will be his sign too.  And they scratched their heads.

Then it happened, three days in the tomb, until that first Easter Sunday morning, and the women discover his body is gone, and the angel tells them, "He is not here, but risen."  There it is, the Sign of Jonah.  So...how many signs do we demand of this God of promise before we serve him, and serve him today?
