PARENT MATH Vol 14 No 16

April 21, 2015

Dear Friend,

A neighbor of mine lost a brother, one of nine children, and their mother was overcome with grief. Her feelings are easily understood with what Bob Benson (Come Share the Being) called parent math.

Two children or five children or three children or nine children minus one do not equal plenty. Every single child is of infinite value to her Mom and Dad.

So you may think we live in a vast universe where there are zillions of people and that God has lots of everybody and you really are insignificant. Except, our Lord only has one of you.

With parent math, even for God, a zillion children minus one, you, is not enough. God loves you personally, deeply, and irrevocably.

No matter what has happened or is happening in your life, no matter how wonderful, difficult or inappropriate, look up to the Lord who loves you and find a new heart and a new start.

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28* - Jesus Christ.
