Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

The spectacles throughout John's Revelation are terrible and fascinating. But remember, it's not a horror story, but the gospel, good news!

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. - Revelation 19:13-15 TNIV

This is a good news story, the Revelation! John sees the White Horse and its rider, Faithful and True, and what do we behold? The rider invades the world with a sword which is the Word of God pouring forth from his mouth. For all of the terror and suffering pictured in The Revelation, it still comes down to the Lord Almighty, and God's Word.

To be sure, I do not comprehend all its meaning, but it's the Word of God and its foundation for our lives, not just in The Revelation, but where we sit and live today...that is the key. In a culture of tolerance and all-paths-lead-to.... well, such thinking pales when contrasted with the Word of God. The White Horse and its rider calls us to ground our lives in the Word.
