Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

In southwestern Utah I saw a desolate, parched landscape, but then a rich lush oasis of green, verdant, beauty, teeming with life--it was a river flowing through the desert, and it brought life.

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.

- Revelation 22:1,2 TNIV

As a river transforms the desert, and an artery carries life to the body's extremities, in the fulfillment of John's vision, he sees "the river of life." Yet note its source, please. The source of life, the headwaters of this river is God and the Lamb.

This river bears life itself, because its source is the Creator and Redeemer. So, how close do we find ourselves this day to the river of life. It's hard to drink from the river of life when we've moved far from its shores.
