Enjoy Life, Enjoy God
BUILDING PROJECTS
December 11, 2009
The people of God have forever been fascinated with houses for God: tents in the wilderness, tabernacles, the ark of the covenant, The Great Temple, and tens of thousands of church buildings across the world.
I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
- Revelation 21:3,4 TNIV
Yet at the close of John's Revelation, no building, and no building projects. The holy place is God. New Jerusalem without a church? Yes.
In a sense we need not wait for this vision to be fulfilled. The temple, the holy place has never been a building. We are invited to make our lives that holy place, that temple, and to do so today.
Joyfully,
Dale Patterson
