UNDIVIDED HEART
December 31, 2009
A great challenge of discipleship is that often we mean well, we have good intentions, but our lives are so conflicted with internal divisions and priorities. We serve and worship many gods.

"And may your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time."

Solomon completes the temple construction. He holds a dedication service. He turns to prayer. His prayer is much more about the people than the building. It's a wonderful prayer (1 Kings 8:22-61). He prays that as we sin, he knows we will, but we are quick to repent, and that God would welcome his people back again. Yet having received God's forgiveness and grace, that we would be fully committed. That the sin-repentance-forgiveness cycle would grow in us full commitment. That we would break the sin cycle and have undivided hearts for the Lord.
Are you up for it? An undivided heart for Christ? Then pray.
Joyfully,
Dale Patterson
