JOY ACCOMPLISHED

 Holy Week comes to fulfillment in the triumph of resurrection--no greater joy! Yet how to get there?

 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

John's Letter begins with the notion of "What we have seen and heard." The faith of Christ is an on-going witness, testimony, sharing of experience. "This is what Christ has done." We can argue with people's beliefs, but it gets pretty hard to argue with what people have experienced.

John says, as we tell the story, share that story, it draws people into fellowship, and brings joy to completion. So John shares the story in his letter, and urges us to share what God is doing in our lives as well. It brings joy alive, and brings it to fulfillment. Complete joy!
