THE DARK SIDE

The longing to get ahead, and make something of oneself is not a bad thing, yet it can have a terrible dark side; one that often shows up.

James challenges the dark side of our inner drive and ambition. "What's this all about?" he says. Often it ends up being about self, and it leads us away from being the people we want to be. Today, you are at work, but you are serving Christ. What's driving you?

We are urged to turn from the dark side, and to lift up and focus on the Christ-side which, in the long run, is the only side. "Peace-loving, considerate, submissive, fully of mercy..."
