TROUBLE?
March 30, 2010
An insurance commercial recently picked up the soulful cry of Ray LaMontagne singing, "Trouble, trouble, trouble..." as we watched a cute dog worry about protecting his most important asset: a bone. The commercial's popularity speaks that we could identify with the worry, and the trouble of the poor pup.

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray...The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
- James 5:13,16 TNIV

James knows his people have worries, troubles, challenges, and he tells them what to do: Pray. Pray with one another. Call the elders. Confess. Get together with one another (Check out 5:13-18). He says, "Stop worrying, and start doing something about it! Pray, pray with one another. Otherwise all you'll have is worry, trouble."
Sadly, I think, we'd rather worry, and be troubled. Stop it!, says James. How 'bout following James' counsel?
Joyfully,
