Enjoy Life, Enjoy God
THE CENTRALITY OF CHRIST
April 20, 2010
We live in a world that has some interest in God, but often takes exception when Christians keep talking about Jesus.
The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in his hands.
--John 3:34,35 NRS
But John tells us here, if you want to come close to God, to hear from God, then we need to come close to Jesus, to listen to Jesus. There is no getting away from the centrality of Jesus Christ. It is one of the unique features of Christianity in the great host of world religions, and why the Christian gospel often is ridiculed and reviled-Jesus.
There is no waffling in the gospels about the centrality of Jesus Christ. Yes, it is the offense, the stumbling block of our religion. But it, he is also our hope and the hope of the world.
Joyfully,
