Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

"Cultural Jesus," the Jesus often spoken of in social parlance, is a nice guy, humble, non-controversial, a palatable religious figure to most agendas.

"Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" At this they picked up stones to stone him...
- John 8:58,59 TNIV

Even a cursory reading of the gospels reveals a much different Jesus. Nice-guy-Jesus never would have ended up on a cross, or had his religious peers picking up rocks to kill him. If there's any myth, it's "cultural Jesus." He called his religious peers "blind guides," "hypocrites," "liars." Yet this is Jesus revealed for us in the gospels.

A look at this Jesus sees no tame, docile, politically-correct, people-pleaser, but...but the Son of God. That's why we bow the knee to him, that's why we worship him, because of who he really is.
