SAVIOR

Many years ago there was a TV commercial for a headache pain reliever where two people, one with a headache, got into it. One shouted, "I'd rather do it myself!" We've all been there but there's more to it than that.

Then the whole human race will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
- Isaiah 49:26 TNIV

The prophet Isaiah envisions a day when the people see the need of a savior AND embrace that savior. Truth is we spend much of our lives, all of us, seeking self-salvation shouting, "I'd rather do it myself." Dr. Phil may ask humanity, "How's that workin' out for you?"

We have a savior; Jesus Christ is his name. We embrace him, are blessed by him merely by reaching out to him, humbling ourselves to say, "I need you." Until then, evidently, we often go around with a headache grumbling, "I'd rather do it myself."
