ALL

"I gave it 110%."
"She gave everything she had."
"He left nothing in the bag."

"Truly, I tell you," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."
- Luke 21:2-4 TNIV

Discipleship certainly is about more than money. And his famous story of the Widow's Coin, or the Widow's Mite, is as much about discipleship as anything. We respect the athlete that gives total commitment, compete devotion to accomplishing their very best, the pursuit of excellence. The widow exemplifies just that--she gave it her everything. Literally, she had nothing left in the bag.

In a world of moderation, compromise, and reasonableness, there's little room left for radical commitment, total devotion, for all. We see it on occasion in the arena of athletic discipline. Yet Christ summons us today, "All!"

Joyfully,
