Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

A challenge for Christians today is to live out their faith, but that action does not preclude what we believe. Proper teaching of doctrine is foundational to lifestyle and how we live.

Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent, therefore! Otherwise, I will soon some to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
                                                                                                           - Revelation 2:15,16 TNIV

We’re not sure who the Nicolaitans were or what their heresy was, but we know it was a threat to the Christians at Pergamum. It threatened to pervert their beliefs and corrupt their actions and faithfulness to Christ.

One of the threats to us living amidst a culture of diversity and tolerance is to take doctrine, teaching, and our beliefs lightly. The Lord of the church urges us, like the people of Pergamum, to be firm in our beliefs and that what we believe matters. What prevents us today from better learning the substance of our faith? What prevents us from putting it into practice?
