Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

In the first "Star Wars" film, Obi Wan Kenobi, with a mere wave us his hand brushes off the soldiers who question and threaten him and his companions.  "These are not the droids you are looking for."

The people were amazed at [Jesus'] teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.
                                                -Mark 1:22 TNIV
Jesus' authority was compelling; it disarmed Jesus' enemies, and wooed those hungry for the presence of God, and it was no Hollywood storyline (the force be with you).  Jesus did not dazzle by waving a magic wand; his mere presence was the very presence of God of which the people earnestly longed.
Authority is not to be confused with power.  Power is more like brute force, the energy, the dynamite to accomplish.  Authority is the rightful delegation.  This Jesus had such authority completely, and not to be challenged.  That's the authority that claims our very lives, yours and mine.
