Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

Through our own stubbornness or foolishness, we can be closed to the things of God.  Take heart, that does not stop God.

Jesus looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means 'Be opened!").  At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.
                                        - Mark 7:34,35 TNIV
A deaf mute person is brought to Jesus, could not hear, could barely speak.  In that world he was "closed."  Jesus was asked to heal him, in doing so, it would "open" him--his ears, and his tongue.  And so it came to pass.
The obvious presenting issue was the speech-hearing impairment.  But there was more to it.  Let me risk an analogy.  We all are a bit deaf, and struggle to be open in our speech about the things of the kingdom.  What if we were to ask Jesus to touch us that we might be "open?"
