People who believe Jesus is their Savior and Lord, and believe him to be the son of God, have been known by a number of names: those of the Way, Nazarenes, and surely, Christian.

Therefore, holy brothers, and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus...And we are his house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

It is not redundant to speak our our Christ-centeredness, if we claim to be Christians. We are centered on the person, our focus is Jesus the Christ. Hebrews, in fact, adds the exhortation: "fix your thoughts on Jesus." The thought: our confidence is in a firm grip on Jesus. That's a disciple's focus.

Our confidence is our hold on Jesus Christ. As I say repeatedly, it's Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
