Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

CONCERNS

June 6, 2011

What are your concerns?  What is their source?  Is it you, concern for others?

But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter.  "Get behind me Satan!" he said.  "You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns."
                                                       -- Mark 8:33 TNIV

"Peter is a human; therefore, he's going to have human concerns, right Jesus?"  The problem is that Peter's mind, like many of ours, is stuck there, not embracing the Kingdom of God, "God-think," or as Paul says, "Have this mind which is in Christ Jesus."  Humans tend to stay focused on the human, the self; the only world they know is that which comes naturally.  But we are born from above, born of the Spirit.

Because of our walk with Christ we dwell into a new world, a new life, and as a result, we can begin to grasp the world from a Christ-centered perspective--"the concerns of God."  It isn't all about us.  Would we be willing to pray, "Lord, let me grow to see the world as you see it, to have this mind which is in you, to catch a glimpse of your concerns?"  Yes, then pray on!

Joyfully,
