Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

The word, "therefore," carries a great deal of weight in the New Testament.  All the teaching of Jesus and Paul, for example, leads to the "therefore."  In other words, "What are you going to do about it?"

"Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back...If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping."
                                                 - Mark 13:35,36 TNIV
In Mark 13, Jesus gives us a glimpse into the close of history.  He tells us explicitly that it's not so much to figure out when it shall happen, but to be ready.  That's his point, that's why he says, "Therefore."
Discipleship is less a riddle to be figured out, than a summons to be ready, to live all our days, few or many, as if today were the ultimate day--the "getting up morning."
