Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

"Love must be sincere," starts Paul in the great love passage of Romans 12. Then he illustrates what "sincere" looks like, much less a feeling, much more a way that we live. Love in action, in other words.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not think you are superior.
                                                 --Romans 12:14-16 TNIV

This is where love gets dicey. It's entirely consistent with Jesus' teaching such as "turn the other cheek," or "walk the extra mile." Yesterday I suggested we would dedicate a season, a day, a week, a month, for example, to focus on each of these illustrations of love--to work one at a time such that we really become a more loving person in the power of Christ's Spirit.

Love #2, love may or may not make the world go round, but I'm sure it makes it a better place, and it makes us the people of Jesus Christ.
