BACK TALK

I wasn't allowed to "back talk" to my parents.  Nevertheless, I had a little sister who mastered back talk as an art form.

But who are you, a mere human being, to talk back to God?  "Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'"

Paul continues his argument to show us that...God is god, and we're not.  Back talk--a holy, righteous God is challenged by a mere human being, the creature back-talks unto the Creator.  Paul illustrates the absurdity.  It's childish, but it's awfully common, isn't it?

Who are we to judge God?  To be sure, there is room in God's mercy, for our doubts and questions, but to presume that we are righteous, and God is unjust...well, that's just back talk.
