INTENTION

Yes, it is God's character to be love, mercy, grace, patience. Yet in it all, God does have an intention.

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
                                                 --Romans 2:4 TNIV

Paul begins his Letter to the Romans demonstrating the human need for a savior, and our defiance of God. Yet he also makes a case for God's grace and mercy. But here he frames God's character, his grace, love, and patience with an intention. Not to go on in rebellion and defiance, but the intention is to lead humanity to repentance, a change of heart, mind, and a way of life.

When we hear of God's forgiveness, let us rejoice indeed! But let us also honor God's intention with lives not following ourselves, but him, Jesus Christ!
