Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

Even in the Bible Belt many of us are a bit apologetic and embarrassed when we refer to our Christian faith.

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed--a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
                                                    --Romans 1:16,17 TNIV

One of the reasons Paul writes these words is he knows of the apology, the embarrassment, but he challenges us all. The message of Christ is life itself to people in jeopardy, and that merits boldness; that merits a courageous faith. And when the gospel message rings out, it highlights righteousness. There is great power in this message and the righteousness Christ reveals.

One aspect of being Christ-followers is bearing witness, and to bear witness requires no embarrassment, and getting over our apology. After all, it is the power of new life, of salvation.
