"In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us." (2 Thess 3:6)

Take special note of those who do not obey our instructions in this letter. Do not associate with them...
                                                  ---2 Thessalonians 3:14 TNIV

To follow Christ has some teeth in it. Evidently some of the Thessalonian Christians had little intention of growing in Christ; basically lazy in discipleship--IDLE. Not only does Paul urge the faithful ones to beware of them, he goes so far as to say: Stir clear of the people who disobey. It seems so foreign to our sensibilities, but is it wrong?

The application to our context, I'm not entirely sure, but I am sure that I can look in the mirror. I may not be in control of the people around me, but I can be in control of me! Idle in the faith? See to it that such is not true of us.
