LIFE AS A TEST

Does God test us? Biblically-speaking it seems the answer is "Yes." But, at the very least, life surely is a test.

Then the Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
---Job 1:8 TNIV

So Job's Test of all Tests begins. I admit it's a bit troublesome how God seemingly gives up Job and family to Satan's attack. But that aside, surely it's a story for us because we all at times feel caught in the suffering of Job. We cry out, "Why?" "What have I done?" A prayerful reading of Job's saga can bring us a few sobering insights to help us as Christ-followers today. What to make of it all?

Insight #1: Life itself is a test. How to relate to God, to make a meaningful life in the real joys and real sorrows of it all? We shall see in Job. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear will be blessed.
