NEVER ENDS

January 30, 2012

Sometimes when we're in the life's crucible we are convinced that we have been forsaken by all, but also, it will never end.

When I lie down I think, "How long before I get up?" The night drags on, and I toss and turn until dawn.
                                                  ---Job 7:4 TNIV

Job cries out that like a night of insomnia, his life is stuck tossing and turning in lament. This may prove small comfort, but in spite of his on-going suffering, Job never stops crying out. A careful read of Job's cries throughout the book reveals amazing poetry of human anguish.

Job cries on, he does not give up. Stories of human anguish in prison, concentration camps, and other forms of disgusting torture chambers, reveal the importance of not giving up, not to surrender to the pain, to what may be evil...but to press on. Never ends? That is not the case.

Joyfully,
