Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

Often when a promise is made, it is contingent on the promise-maker, not so much on the promise-receiver.

But scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
                                                        --Galatians 3:22 TNIV

The promise God made to Abraham two millennia prior to Paul writing to the Galatians, the promise to make of Abraham and his "seed" a great people, was not based upon him keeping the Law, but based upon Abraham embracing the promise and God's faithfulness.

It was based upon faith, Abraham believing God. And so it is true still for us. It's not that the Law is not important, but believing the promise is the key. Such is the way of promises. It's not the Law, but the promise.
