CHILDREN OF FREEDOM

Admittedly I don't know a lot about slavery, nor do you. We have lived as free people our entire lives.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
                                                  --Galatians 4:31 TNIV

We were born into freedom. But try to consider being born into slavery, the shackles of bondage. Paul reminds his readers it would be like the difference between being born of a slave-woman (Hagar) or a free-woman (Sarah). He tells the Galatians in Christ, you have been born into freedom, yet you live like you were born a slave. Why? Why such religious shackles and bondage?

We too are children of freedom. Our inheritance comes as heirs of that free-woman, born into Christ. Let us live this day as children of freedom, grateful there are no shackles that bind us.
