Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

We have a way of taking a good thing, and turning it into a bad thing.  Even Jesus struggled with this.
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath.  His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them.  When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him , "Look!  Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath."

The Sabbath was instituted by God for the well-being of creation, for you and me, and we are fools for ignoring it.  It may be the most violated of the Ten Commandments.  However, it won't be fixed by sending people to jail.  The Pharisees were ball-n-chainers--"Let's throw people in jail, let's stone 'em" for breaking Sabbath Law.  Jesus was quick to point it out, and it ends up being one of the reasons they crucify him.

Sabbath is not observed by legal code, but by Christ-followers who realize that it is a grace from God for their well-being, and to reconnect with the God who loves us.  It's a mercy of God, not a cause to go to jail.  So...keep the Sabbath; it breeds life!
