FAMILY FIRST

We in the church have focused on the family, family first. Really?
Another disciple said to him , "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." But Jesus told him , "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

Have we read our Bibles? Or the words of Jesus? Jesus seems to teach that we will make idols of anything, including family; we will use it as an excuse to delay following him, or being vibrant disciples. A would-be disciple says, "I want to follow, but I have some family obligations first." This is a thought we often utter. Please note, Jesus has no patience with such an excuse, it's an idol.
Family first? Focus on the family? Really?
