FRUITFUL HEART
January 25, 2013
We are a nation into productivity. We want to be prosperous. Jesus urges us to be fruitful.
"But the seed falling on good soil refers to people who hear the word and understand it. They produce a crop yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown."
--Matthew 13:23 TNIV
Jesus teaches that fruitfulness is linked to the heart, and how a person holds onto God and faithfulness:
Seeds sown in some hearts never bear any fruit.
Seeds fall into rocky hearts, they get excited but never really take root.
Seeds fall among thorns, they too blossom, but worries and ambition choke the seed to death.
No fruit...
But now and then seed really takes off. "Jesus, may your seed take off in me; in your grace grant me a fruitful heart. Amen."
Amen."
Joyfully,
